Food and Friends Supports Charities with Pie Fundraiser

October 30, 2013

Food & Friends, a D.C.-based nonprofit that provides meals to people with life-challenging illnesses, is once again selling Thanksgiving pies that will benefit, not only their work, but also other charities in D.C. Every pie purchase through the Slice of Life program equates to one full day of meals for a client at Food & Friends. Corporations and individuals are also helping to sell pies, which Food & Friends’ Chris Copley said helps the group meet their goal of selling 8,500 pies. Thanks to Peter Glassman, a Food & Friends board member and owner of Friendship Hospital for Animals, City Dogs Rescue, the Washington Humane Society and Lucky Dog Rescue will receive $450 in vet care for every 20 pies they sell.
