Georgetown Church Seeking Buyer

November 18, 2013

One of D.C.’s oldest Baptist churches is seeking buyers, setting the stage for the Georgetown property’s potential conversion into a condominium project or other use. The Alexander Memorial Baptist Church has retained W.F. Chesley Real Estate LLC to market its three-buidling property at 2709-2715 N St. NW to interested buyers. The congregation is weighing plans to move to Prince George’s County. The property has been on the market for about a month. W.F. Chesley broker David McClatchy Jr. said he has already received interest from prospective buyers considering an adaptive reuse of the site. The property, which is assessed at about $3.4 million, is listed for sale at $7.5 million and being marketed as a redevelopment opportunity. (WBJ)
