Metro Memorial Park to Honor Victims

March 27, 2014

June 22 will mark five years since a crash on Metro’s Red Line killed nine and injured 70 more. Finally, it appears, a memorial to the victims of Metro’s deadliest accident is coming together, but it won’t open in time for the solemn anniversary. The District’s Department of General Services has released a solicitation for a contractor to install the selected design for Metro Memorial Park, to be located at the intersection of South Dakota and New Hampshire avenues NE, at the entrance to the Blair Road Community Gardens.
