Sales of Apartment Buildings Slow

April 29, 2013

Sales of apartment buildings slowed in 2012 as a slate of new buildings opened across the Washington area. The influx of new units did not dampen the enthusiasm for some buyers, who paid top prices for higher-end buildings. And though volume of sales in 2012 was off the robust pace of 2011, expect to see a slight rebound in 2013. In the long term, the outlook should be bright for local apartment sales given lifestyle, economic and demographic trends. (WaPo)
