Temperatures in the D.C. area are expected to drop by 40 degrees over the next 24 hours, bringing below-zero temperatures and wind gusts that could create wind chills of minus 20 degrees Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service has issued wind chill warnings from the Alleghany Highlands southeast to the Virginia Piedmont, including the Roanoke and New River valleys, and areas west of the Blue Ridge. Wind chill advisory is in effect for tonight into Tuesday for most Virginia, Maryland and the District, where wind chills may dip to 10 below zero Tuesday morning. (Channel 4)
