Brown Trial Starts Today

April 21, 2014

The trial for R&B singer Chris Brown, accused of assaulting a man in D.C., begins today. A man from Maryland accused Brown and his bodyguard of punching him outside a Washington hotel in October. The trial for his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, is already underway and the Judge Patricia Wynn is expected to rule tomorrow before Brown’s trial begins. She delayed her verdict on the case Friday. Hollosy told police that he punched the man after the man tried to get on Brown’s tour bus. But the man told police a different story, saying Brown and later Hollosy punched him after he tried to get in a photo Brown was taking. Brown was in the District to perform at an event linked to Howard University’s homecoming celebrations. He was on probation for assaulting his-then girlfriend Rihanna just before the Grammy Awards in 2009. Lawyers for the singer rejected a plea deal for the misdemeanor assault charge, and Brown denies that he hit the man. (WAMU)
