DC St. Patrick’s Parade 2014

March 14, 2014

The Washington, DC, 43rd Annual St. Patrick’s Parade will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 12:00 Noon, and will proceed down Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets, NW, in our Nation’s Capital.

The parade route is easily accessible from the Federal Triangle, Archives-Navy Memorial and Smithsonian metro stations. The grandstands are located between 15th and 16th streets next to the judges reviewing stand. They are a great way to watch the parade – each group is introduced as they approach and you get to see them at their best, performing for the judges. The grandstands provide a comfortable, elevated, vantage point with nearby restroom facilities.

The Parade Committee is proud to announce that Reverend Monsignor Salvatore A. Criscuolo, has been selected as Grand Marshal for the 2014 parade. The Gael of the Year, selected for her outstanding service to the Irish community, is Cecilia Farley.

The 2014 Division Marshals are Megan Molloy, Co-Chair of the American Ireland Fund’s Washington, DC Young Leaders; Kristin Leary, Co-Founder and U.S. Director of the Frederick Douglass/Daniel O’Connell Project and member of the Board of Directors for the Washington Ireland Program; and Matthew O’Hare.
The mission of the St. Patrick’s Parade of Washington, D.C. is to foster the understanding of and celebrate the Irish culture in America. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been held annually in Washington, D.C., since 1971. This annual affair has grown from what was little more than a leisurely stroll by a few hundred participants on Massachusetts Avenue to a mile long, two-hour celebration of Irish culture along Constitution Avenue. http://dcstpatsparade.com/
